The Manjiyuwa, also known as Manju-No-Wa or Manchira, is a type of armor from Japan.
The Manjiyuwa is a kind of brigandine. It consists of several pieces of armor that are connected to each other. It protects the chest, shoulders, upper back, and sides of the body. It is put on by placing the collar around the neck and lacing it up at the back.
The two side parts are threaded under the arms and also laced up. There are various versions that differ in the type of shape and armor. The armor can consist of chain mail, plate armor, or a mixture of the two. They were often worn under the chest armor (Do), but also alone.
